The Forest Pillar of the AgroBRC RARe research infrastructure (Agronomic Resources for Research) is a Forest Biological Resource Centre (FBR) distributed over 3 operational sites (Orléans, Pierroton and Avignon) and 2 sites providing support activities for its operation (Versailles and Nancy). It gathers Forest Biological Resources, such as collections of seeds, pollens and individuals, genomic resources and samples of leaves, needles or wood.

The mission of the Forest Pillar is to make available to national and international scientific communities Forest Biological Resources for research purposes and associated phenotypic and genotypic data.

BioForA is the guarantee of the scientific orientations and the genotypic characterization of the resources for poplar, cherry, ash and larch. It also participates in the genotyping (pilot) and quality (co-pilot) processes, and in the validation committee.
